My parents both had a brother, but my dad doesn't speak to his, and my mum's brother lived 1400km away (though he passed away a couple of years ago). I've only ever had one set of grandparents.
But, when I was born, I was lucky enough have a great-grandma, too. (She turned 80 the day *after* I was born. Apparently she was very disappointed I couldn't wait another day so we could share birthdays!)
We have a photo of my Nanny, Grandma, Dad and I, which I adore. (I really should get my own print of it, shouldn't I?)
The only picture I have online of my Nanny and I is here http://alivicwil.livejournal.com/250850.html

alivicwil.comalivicwilhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01166864936341536088noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3959125561255367686.post-22262282194170148692009-08-21T04:05:33.628-04:002009-08-21T04:05:33.628-04:00How wonderful and precious. xxHow wonderful and precious. xxHeart Felthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14172694486154431395noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3959125561255367686.post-83596066569237434942009-08-20T22:24:02.543-04:002009-08-20T22:24:02.543-04:00Awe, it's so nice to learn a little more about...Awe, it's so nice to learn a little more about your families!
I feel so blessed to have family close & so many generations! At the age of 90 it is unlikely that my grandma will still be around to see me have children, but she has about a dozen great grandkids already!

You are incredibly lucky to have five generations on BOTH SIDES! It's amazing. You should get that photo of your side of the family while you still can :)Laurenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16197423786606530770noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3959125561255367686.post-82605009160064697862009-08-19T05:35:11.821-04:002009-08-19T05:35:11.821-04:00hopefully my nanna (mums mum) will hang on til i s...hopefully my nanna (mums mum) will hang on til i settle into my new house and have a baby! theres only 3 gens for me, sadly my dads mum is dead, im quite short on relatives! we're a late reproducing family and sadly will never get anything as precious as you have. if i get pregnant before 28 i will be the only one in 2 generations to do so! my cousins are lucky theyre babys can interact with nanna, and their other gran as thats their 4 generations! my boyfriends mum and sisters wont speak to my boyfriend, so our baby-to-be will have a very tiny family circle :(Chick von Peahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11885482740124549989noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3959125561255367686.post-13737026537890570862009-08-19T01:17:59.549-04:002009-08-19T01:17:59.549-04:00how lucky you are! we have 4 generations on both s...how lucky you are! we have 4 generations on both sides. my husband has both sets of his grandparents & i've got a grandma. my mom set up a photo shoot with her, her mom, me, my sister & our 5 girls last fall after my last babe was born. twas sweetmommymaehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12406553107143068551noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3959125561255367686.post-50313443469067216152009-08-19T00:54:00.664-04:002009-08-19T00:54:00.664-04:00Wow! So far you are the only other person I have encountered since having my children that has a 5 generation picture.

We took one when our first son was two months old. It was unexpected (in that she wasn't sick, she was just elderly) and I'm so sad that she never got to hold my baby.

We live far from my family and close to (within an hour of) my BIL & FIL, so we see them at least once a month. I miss my family, though. I talk to my mom daily & she reads my blog, but it is just not the same.

You are so lucky to have that picture! It's gorgeous :)averygoodyearhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08775646972294336449noreply@blogger.com
