Greetings From The Absent Fawn

Welcome to my life without internet at home. No internet, no downtown living -- I might as well be on another planet. It's incredible how much of a difference those five blocks make.

However, ignore my griping -- the new apartment is amazing & I love it all. We are starting to learn all of her little eccentricities. For instance, the controls for baseboard heaters are sometimes in places that don't make sense (ie. control for the foyer is somewhere in between the kitchen & living room, which resulted in a scorching hot entrance for the first day or so until I figured this out), the streetlights outside make sure that our rooms are never completely dark (which will soon be remedied by some dark curtains, at least in our room & the baby's room), and for some reason the only two phone jacks in the whole apartment are on either side of the fridge. However, despite these little quirks, we are in love. I can definitely see us staying here for a decent amount of time (which means a lot considering I've never lived anywhere for more than 2 1/2 years in my entire life).

There are quite a few things that need to be done in the next few weeks & I cannot wait to build us a home here:
♥ painting (all doors & some accents walls in each room -- we certainly cannot live in a purely white space)
♥ oven (the landlord is coming to fix the oven/stove tomorrow so that the holiday baking may commence)
♥ baby room (the furniture for the baby room is coming this month so I must paint & clean & organize before it all arrives)
♥ furniture (we barely have any -- coming from a one bedroom to a four bedroom means that there is a lot of empty space happenning right now)

We've got our work cut out for us for the next little while, but I'm not dreading a single moment of it. I think that tonight I start working on the baby room (nest, nest, nest).

ps. It looks as though we might not have internet until Monday, or later, so don't worry if you don't hear from me for a few days at a time until that's all sorted. I apologize for my absence & am now facing 327 unread posts in my google reader. Oh my word.

I hear you sistah. I just started working and I come home to 1867 reader posts each day. I can never get through to them so they sit and collect.

I really hope there isn't interest on reading =(

I usually do read all of my google reader posts -- I'm diligent! I also suspect you are subscribed to a few more than I ^_^

I'm feeling pretty great -- the little one is pushing up against my lungs now so breathing is a little rough at times, as is sleeping -- but all is well otherwise :) My blood was taken again yesterday so soon I'll know how my iron is doing ^_^
Thanks :)
