Spring Is Happening & Everyone Is Smiling

Hello lovelies! Today was a beautiful day.

We all woke up with smiles on our faces, Gretchen cooing away and tickling our arms as she stretched. I enjoyed a glorious mug of coffee, and even though I dropped my Bodum and she now wears a crack, I am not dismayed! I've decided perhaps a shiny new French press should be my very 1st Mother's Day present. Thankfully I should be able to get another couple days out of the press before it is doomed for the dump.

This afternoon I made my way to my 3rd jewelry course and spent three hours with my saw, cutting and drilling, sanding and stamping. (As soon as I've charged the batteries in my camera I will share with you my creations from this afternoon). I'm learning so quickly & was even able to teach a few of the ladies in my class how to anneal the metal! Quick, quick like a bunny with my flux & flame. Next week we'll learn to solder.

Outside of the metalworking basement I noticed that GREEN has happened in our fair city. All of the trees are sprouting, the lawns are fluffing themselves up all proud and seasonal, & our tulips have sprouted pretty, yellow fleurs.

I can't wait to walk barefoot.

Everything smells amazing & I want to spend every moment outside.

How I wish we had a backyard! I think we'll be spending a good portion of Spring, Summer & Autumn at the park & by the river. Oh! And on the patios! I almost forgot how incredible patio season is here in Peterborough.

So yes, Spring might very well be in full swing & with it a happy, happy mood is spreading.

...

I know that it isn't Spring where all of you are, but whether it is or not, I would LOVE for you all to share a photo of what the seasons have in store for YOU right now. Please take a photo of your yard, or favourite park, or somewhere you like to spend your days. Email your images to desireefawn at gmail dot com and I'll put together a "sharing our seasons" post for everyone's enjoyment! Please send photos by Monday May 11th! Merci!

That's fantastic that your course is going well! :) And I'm glad things are green where you are, things here are getting very very grey . . .

Yup, it's getting more and more wet and cold and dark . . . complete opposite of your growing greeness!

The funny thing about Los Angeles... we barely have seasons. Right after my baby was born in January we had a beautiful week of spring and I got to walk her around the neighborhood and show her off and check out the blossoms. Now we're already in mid-summer more or less. But I'll see if I can come up with a pic of May in the desert.

I can't figure out what email address to send photos to. It's probably obvious, but I'm totally missing it. Took a photo of sculpty time in the yard this afternoon.
