It Comes With The Season

The babe & I have been fighting a bit of a cold this week. This morning we awoke in a funk -- restless, tired & full of gunk.* The saddest part of my day is trying to blow an eight month old's little nose while she flails back & forth in an attempt to thwart my efforts. Poor little lass.

I have been so incredibly exhausted lately. Gretchen has been waking every hour on the hour & I'm sure my sleepiness is partially due to coming down with this cold. So far I've just got a sore throat & a headache, but the babe is rather congested. I'm hoping that my home remedies of tea & rest & snuggles will get us through this without having to take a trip to the doctors. It's all about the chamomile, and the baby massages after tubby time, and the naps beside the space heater because OH MY WORD have I mentioned how frigid it suddenly has become?? It's as though summer just gave in to fall which immediately fell into winter.

We're freezing over here and since the furnace folks aren't coming til the 8th to do maintenance I'm nervous about turning on heat! I also think it's blasphemous to turn the heat on when it's only October 1st. My goodness.

I hope you're all taking care as the weather is turning -- snuggling up with cozy blankets & classic movies, loved ones & Earl Grey.
