Mornings At The House Of Fawn

Our mornings usually look like this: we wake up (somewhere between 6 & 8am), come downstairs, one of us makes coffee (in our beloved Bodum) and then I generally write some posts (for the site that pays the bills) while the boy gets Gretchen some breakfast. If the boy is working mornings he'll head off while G & I wave at the window, then we'll play, read stories & snuggle up while watching one of our favourite shows. If the boy is working afternoons we try to spend as much time together as we can while doing chores, running errands and playing with the babe til her late morning/early afternoon nap.

I really like that I can almost always count on our morning routine. It makes the day run a little smoother when I have a familiar feeling during those first few hours.

What do your mornings look like? Do you have a routine? Is there anything special that you have to do start the day?

love those early mornin' photos of you (& your Pyrex mug)!

as for morning rituals, definitely the Poor Man's Latte is numero uno. Need me a little caffeine in foamy milk goodness. :)
The cutest start is saying Good Morning to Gracie. She gets all wiggly & happy & it's impossible not to wake up smiling.

My mornings consists of rushing off to work... which I should be doing right now! :)

Routine does make for a better day, and coffee is like icing on the cake.- Shannon O | Confessions of a Loving Wife

I love routines! It makes like more manageable. Unfortunaly, since I became a SAHM, routines are hard to come by. We have a little routine in the morning. We wake up and Leah watches her signing time sign language video while I make coffee (in our bodem too) and our breakfast. After the breakfast...my daughter makes all the calls until the evening.

I should really get a better routine going throughout the day...

I drag myself downstairs and get the water boiling for our own Bodem coffee prep! I play with our tot and get him ready for preschool while my husband writes blog posts for the blog that pays *our* bills. :D Then I begin my day of writing (or commenting on awesome blogs like yours! ok, back to work now)

Like a nerd I am trying to have a flylady-ish morning, but that only works if I've slept enough.

Normally I try to take Geraldine out to pee while hoping that a minimum number of neighbours see me in my boxers and rubber boots and huge jacket - it is usually a huge fail.

Jeez we are so routined here, we probably couldn't live without them :P

Every morning I will get up before the baby, shower and dress then get the man up to do the same, soon after ZJ usually wakes up so i get him up dressed and ready for the day. My favourite part of every day is peeking around his door and saying 'hey baby!' and seeing his smile.
We play for a bit until Simon is out of the shower and Simon will sort out coffee for the two of us (usually my only one of the day so its treasured) and ZJs breakfast while I catch up on my email and blogs.

Most of our day has some sort of routine and I think the kid really benefits from it too, he always knows what to expect.

lucia and i play when she wakes up - we always cuddle before we make the day. she recently started sleeping in her own bed, so i take my morning cuddles quite seriously. i feed her oranges, cheerios, maybe a banana. i drink coffee. she plays at my feet while i put my makeup on my tired eyes. some days are rushed. some are not. it just depends on how early i get my bootie in gear.

saturday mornings daddy usually sleeps a bit later than us both. i drink coffee and play with lucia. when he wakes we listen to records in our study.
lucia dances.

she makes mornings better.

My morning is pretty basic -- wake up, do my hygiene and make-up, grab a quick breakfast, and head to work!
