A Heartbreaking Thing Happened The Other Day

Miss G and I spend most of our afternoons in the backyard. We sit on the porch, we water the garden, we pick weeds flowers, we read books and play with sand and stones.

On this particular day, about two days ago, she found a measuring tape and carried it around while I snapped a few photos.

And then something crappy happened.

It stopped.

My camera lit up with an offensive error message and she's been out of commission ever since.

#$&%.

I'm going to be a bit of a mess without my trusty cam at my fingertips, but perhaps this will give me the push I need to pop some real live film into my Olympus or Pentax. Or Polaroid(s).

Silver lining? At least I was able to capture her mischievous expressions that afternoon (which has got to count for something).

PS. In case you were wondering, the message reads "Error 99" and, after much Googling, I've tried every home remedy possible, but still no pictures can be taken. Call me a sad, sad mama. Thankfully I still have my trust wee pink Powershot, but my lovely 30D will be on hiatus until I can figure out a) how to get it repaired or b) *gulp* how to purchase a new Canon body. I'm not really sure I can even think about that second option just right now. It's much too heartbreaking.
