Day 03: Something I Never Leave The House Without

My instinct here is almost always my brain... and by that I mean my iPhone. The thing that reminds me of all the things I need to do... it's my calendar, my notepad, my pocket-cam... I'm sure you know that feeling. I'm also need it close when I'm on call for my doula clients, if my shopgal is working at Tango, if the security company needs to find me or if daycare needs to get a hold of me for Gretchen. I'm nearly never at home, so as much as it can be frustrating to be tied to a phone, I often am.

However, two years ago when I started the #30DaysHathNovember series... I wrote about my Blackberry. It's true. And last year... it was all about my Rescue Remedy. This time around, I had to rack my brain a little... and in doing so, I thought of two things:

Lip stuff & hair ties.

I get pretty grumpy if these things aren't RIGHT there when I reach into my purse/pocket. Not being able to find a hair tie makes me anxious, actually. My hair is long and fine and gets in my face, especially when I'm eating, so I always tie it back. I sound like a little kid, right? It's silly, but I really can't stand eating with my hair down.

As far as the lip stuff, I'm happy with Chapstick, gloss or lipstick, depending on the day/my mood. Wintertime calls for chappy lip stuff, of course, or my poor lips couldn't handle it. Dry, dry, dry. For the rest of the time, I like a little colour or shine.
