The Fawn Is Melting (And So Is Her Family)

How is it possibly twenty degrees at one o'clock in the morning?

Gross.

I am dripping sweat as I type. Delightful image, oui?

We only have one fan in the house right now & it is directing the hot air out of our bedroom so that the little Miss Gretchen might sleep a little more peacefully.

Is May too soon to bust out the old air conditioner?

Each year I try to delay this transition by it's inevitable. We originally got an AC because of Sir Winston. Boston Terrier's have those short little snouts which means that they sometimes have a hard time breathing in extreme heat or cold. Yes, I air condition for the dog. He's lucky he's cute.

Now I think we'll have to cool things down with the AC just so that my sweet little babe isn't such a sweaty little babe.

I hope you're all able to find a cool breeze in this sweltering night.

Goodnight! Sleep tight!

If it makes you feel any cooler, my oldest (now almost 13) will be playing 3 soccer games on Saturday near the southern tip of Texas on the border with Mexico. The forecast says that it'll be clear and 95 degrees F (35 to you)--no shade, of course. I worry about my baby in that heat!

So sorry about having to sleep in the heat. It's no fun! Think cool thoughts (ice cubes clinking in a glass, the hidden depths of an iceberg, or the slippery slope of a glacier)--or just lie under the fan with a spray bottle of water in your hand and douse yourself all night long. :)

We keep having crazy weather: one day it is chilly and rainy, the next really hot. And so forth. Makes it hard to know for sure when to pack away the winter clothes and break out the AC's.

well...i'd almost rather have your weather. it still feels like FALL here in saskatoon - +3 only this morning with a pretty bold wind that makes it pretty chilly...AND THERE'S SNOW IN THE FORECAST!!! the end of freaking May and it might snow! tomorrow it's supposed to smarten up though. +20. we'll see.

I live in Texas. It is hot. Damn hot. All the time.
In my opinion it is never too soon for AC.

Sounds like we're all melting away -- especially you Texans!

I hope we can all find a little space to cool down ^_^

Aw poor wee Gretchen and her mamma!

Z was born in the middle of summer and often went to sleep in a 30degree bassinet (i know becuase we had a thermometer in there!) he was fine, we jsut dressed him in a singlet and his nappy and MAYBE a sheet - which he often kicked off.

We have the opposite problem of it being around 7 degrees in the bedroom at the mo!

Complete opposites ^_^ I've been putting her to bed in just a diaper with a blanket -- hopefully that's alright :)

dont see why not. i had little wife beaters for ZJ bt they were mostly for my own paranoid with a newborn 'omg he is so little and unprotected' reasons :D

if it was now id just be putting him down with a nappy to hehe :)

Remember how scared we were? or at least i was!

I still check on her a lot when she's asleep to make sure she's breathing :)
