Weight Watchers Weigh In: Week Fourteen

This morning I weighed in at the gym (a post about personal training is coming soon -- promise). The fancy scale in my personal trainer's office read 180.8lbs, so I suppose I'll round up and call it 181lbs.

I'm up a 1/2 pound from last week, which I'll try not to get too frustrated about.

What I AM getting frustrated with is being stuck in these low 80s for weeks and weeks -- I know that I need to step it up a notch. Today I made the mistake of a eating a burger, ice cream AND spicy Szechwan food -- my worst day of eating in a long time -- and I'm sure I will pay for it later.

Even after a great work out today I still let myself eat so much today and I'm disappointed, but I WILL bounce back.

My goal is to weigh 175 in two weeks (for my bridesmaid dress fitting) and hot damn I WANT IT. My personal trainer said as long as I eat well she can make it happen -- I feel like I'm letting her down too.

Tomorrow! It ends!

I'm going back to counting points in a more REAL way.
No more guessing, no more estimating.

The more I write about this the more upset I'm feeling with the way I treated my body today -- a great work out, tons of weight training, 30 minutes on the elliptical and this is how I repay all that hard work. I could almost cry.

I can feel myself falling off the wagon & it's a terrible feeling.

Send some good vibes my way, mes amis -- I will not give up!

...

Just 6lbs til my July 29th goal of 175lbs.
Just 21lbs til my final goal of 160lbs.

You know, I have probably gained every pound you lost this summer, but posts like this are why I hate dealing with body image.

CHECK OUT ALL THAT CRAZY SHIZ YOU DID AT THE GYM YESTERDAY. And the day before that, and the day before that. It was insane! Check out how you have been eating really well for months! If I told you what I eat every day you would shit.

How you look in a dress is so different from what you do when you have it on. How much fun you are having. Be spectacular. Be sexy. Have fun. It is really up to you no matter where that half pound comes from (my guess is NEW MUSCLES, frankly.)

I am really really proud of you, how healthy and happy you and Gretchen are, how active and busy you are able to be - all with her by your side! But a cheeseburger should not make your day so teary! What you eat, or don't, has absolutely nothing to do with your value as a person. Don't forget it. I mean, pump that iron! Do it. I know how good that feels. But don't stress yoself until you wreck yoself, you know?

fat-activist out.
xo,

Iris

Thank you Joy!! It's so hard when you mess up like that -- but it's what you do the next day that counts -- merci!

Iris -- make me CRY why don't you! Thanks for the love, yo.

You know what? I think down days are inevitable. You never get 100% on exams, or tests, and that's cool, you usually expect yourself to do well, but you don't expect yourself to be perfect . . . so why is it we don't apply this concept to our daily lives?

You have done SO MUCH in the last little while, and have put so much effort in and seen some great results but people aren't perfect hey. And it's these imperfections which make us who we are (and we are wonderful). Accept the bad days, and rock the brilliant ones.

With all the effort and time and <3 you've put in, you'll get where you want to be, hey. I don't doubt it :)

Actually, when you work out really hard it speeds up your metabolism. So if you're going to eat badly, it's better to do so on a work out day. It doesn't erase the work you did. So, don't worry.

Also, you should know, I weighed 180 without ever having a baby and it took me a year to lose the weight; cutting out sugary soda and exercising 300 calories on an exercise bike every day. I'm now 160.

Sorry hope you don't mind my comment, I found you on stumble upon!
