Pen Pal Love

A little while ago I signed up to take part in a pen pal swap over on Apples For Poppy Anne and earlier this week a pretty package arrived in my mailbox.

Such lovely tokens, hiding in the manila, wrapped in tiny envelops & drawn inside a little satchel.

Sweet little and teensy turtle paper clips -- ruby red beads & small paper squares.

A quote to live by -- words I've been mulling over ever since.

I am especially fond of the fact that she wrote her note on paint chips! If you'd like to meet my lovely new pen pal, hop on over to Deliajude for a wee visit. She recently did some painting in her kitchen & I'm so in love with the colour.

I'm a big fan of this new pen pal phenomenon -- I really do believe that we need to work to keep the art of snail mail alive, no matter how much faster or more convenient the internet might be.

There's just something so special about a tangible package and handwritten words.

And who doesn't like mail?? It's much nicer than bills, for a change.

Wishing you all a very happy Wednesday -- with love.

We should host some sort of pen pal exchange. Of course, you already have one, but still... hmmm... something to consider.

Hmm, I think that's a good idea -- we should talk :) I would love to have more than one person to write with -- oh, check out the letter writing alliance blog: http://16sparrows.typepad.com/letterwritersalliance/ Some really neat stuff there!

My best friend signed me up last year for a letter writer's club called The LEtter Writer's ALliane. They have lots of nifty things on their site and up to member #500 (I was #101) they would actually mail members neat things like antique postcards, some with letters on them from decades ago, some cool old stamps, notebooks, etc. I have a few friends I love to write to via snail mail, and who love to write back. I love finding beautiful stationary and sending a real heartfelt letter. What a treat!

Oh yes, I've been reading their blog for a little while -- do they still have memberships available I wonder? I'd love to be more involved!

Thanks!
