Because A Hungry Baby Can Happen Anytime & Anywhere

In the past four months I have come to a point in my breastfeeding career where I feel comfortable doing it anywhere -- and I mean anywhere. Seeing the general public scratching their heads wondering, "what in the world is that lady doing?" makes me so proud to be a breastfeeding mama.

Last week I fed my daughter in the back of a moving vehicle while hovering semi-shirtless over her car seat. For a little one who isn't super fond of being in the car, this balancing act made for a very happy baby.

This afternoon I was walking through the park and my fussy little girl wanted a snack so I unbuttoned, popped her on and changed her to a laying down position in our new ring sling. She ate, I walked & people on their bikes and roller blades stared.

I suppose babies & boobies aren't always what you expect to see in the park, or in the car next to yours.

In both situations I felt so happy to be able to provide my daughter with instant satisfaction & a full tummy.

I love being a breastfeeding mama.

People may stare but I know whenever I see a woman breastfeeding in public I state for a second or two and smile because it is so natural and so so awesome.

Isn't it amazing how breastfeeding babies are so portable? I used to breastfeed my children in the Ellaroo wrap while grocery shopping, and no one had a clue.

Anytime and anywhere are certainly words to live by. When I see woman breastfeeding, I feel nostalgic and try to give her a "you go, girl" look without making her feel self conscious (it's a fine line to walk). When I see a baby crying, I think, "oh, if only her mama would nurse her, the problem would go away."

If you notice me looking at you while you nurse, know that I think you're fabulous for doing so.

Good for you Mama!! Knowing how to nurse a babe in the carseat is such an important tool for me. That and sling nursing. I love when people give me looks for nursing. WE ROCK!
