On A Good Day I Usually Smell At Least A Little Bit Like Spit Up

Today is no exception.

Earlier this morning Ryan was attending an information session up at the college about going back to school in September and I was entertaining Gretchen. I'd just finished feeding her & was trying to make her laugh, when I had a serious lapse in parental judgment & lifted her high above my head.

She laughed hysterically for a moment and then spewed forth an intense quantity of milk all over my face, my hair, my purse, my shirt, the chair, the floor & the sling.

Ryan couldn't help but burst out laughing before handing me a blanket to clean myself.

I believe this is one of those rites of passage that all new mamas must conquer. Now I'm officially a Parent.

Unfortunately I never had that rite of passage... or maybe fortunately! My babies rarely or never spit up, so I felt pretty fortunate. But I think Noodle would have been less colicky if he'd spit up once in awhile!

Ummm...not sure if I should tell you this, but just wait until you get barfed on. It's been my experience (lucky me) that my kids always barf on me, not their dad. I think it's because I'm the one comforting them and holding them when it happens.

Your baby is so darn adorable, I'm sure she was instantly forgiven. LOL

Hahaha, I probably shouldn't have, but I laughed when I read this. :) I guess this is one of the joys of being a Mama? :)

I shouldn't laugh because I'll be next, but it happened to my husband but not yet to me. Hee!

I should have known better than to hold a full baby above my head by her belly -- silly mama!

My son threw up so much on me I nearly always had a towel on my shoulder just for him. Thank goodness he grew out of it.

Ha ha! What's worse is when that happens and you have your mouth open!

I wear the new mommy perfume everyday - eau de barf

My kids don't spew, but both spit up after feedings, I suspect because they are gluttons and just eat and eat...
