The Gibson Tuck... In Action

I pulled it off, ladies and gents! This weekend I sported the Gibson Tuck to a wedding and it worked out really well. Lots of compliments on the style, and it help up nicely. I did pull it down at the end of the night to shake things loose, but with just an elastic and three bobby pins (and less than 5 minutes of my time) I am incredibly impressed.

I'm so glad my pal Shannon (friend, not roommate) snapped a pic of Gretchen nursing at the wedding, because it ended up being the only photo that showed the back of my head! Not too shabby.

The wedding was gorgeous -- I'll be posting a few little photos later today, just to give you an idea of the vibe. It was swoon-worth, for sure. The actual ceremony had been the day before, with a huge shindig in the bride's parent's backyard on Saturday. The wind was so extreme that we were all a little worried about the tent, but thankfully many capable hands secured it til we beat the gusts and kept the party going. It was certainly a night to be remember. So much love.

Also, see how Gretchen is chilled out in my lap? She loves to nurse like this. She's such a cuddly little lass, and I love it.

I hope you're all having a productive Monday -- I've been getting lots of work done today and I'm feeling great, despite the rainy, chilly day we're having.

Saturday's Love Fest

I've never been one for the "circus wedding", if you know what I mean. Which is probably why Saturday's shindig had me feeling SO completely relaxed and at peace. This is how it should be done, folks. No stress, planned in just a few short weeks, love seeping out of every single moment. I adore this couple, and I'm SO glad I could give them the gift of doing their wedding photos. The entire event was a blessing. My soul feels warmer having experienced this by their side.



Are you feeling the love yet? The gorgeous bride kept saying how much her cheeks hurt from smiling so much. Definitely a good sign.

Seven Hens & A Wedding

My Little Fawn is off with her grandmother this weekend, and in about an hour I'll be heading to my dear friend Sarah's wedding, to photograph this beautiful day for her. I'm so thrilled to be a part of it, and the weather is being especially cooperative, consider the grumpy rainy day we had yesterday.

I'm feeling rather pleased with September so far... just three days in and I've already achieved so much, including finding a new housemate, which means I don't have to leave my home. Can you all please breathe a sigh of relief with me? Ahhhhhthat'sbetter. I've also been feeling about some other things... things that've been rattling around in my brain these last few months. Thanks again, for sticking with me.

Are you loving the chicky pics I've been posting more and more lately? I realize I still haven't told you their story, but it'll come soon, I promise. I will tell you that there are seven of them... four have names... and they ought to be laying by the end of the month. What a beautiful thing.

Does anyone else still feel like the year starts with September? Maybe it's my years and years of school, university & such... but when Autumn peeks it's head out from under the heat of summer, I start to feel refreshed, renewed & completely invigorated.

I see good things happening in teh very near future. For me. For you. For ideas. For life.

Josh & Dan: A Sneak Peek

Last night's wedding was so incredibly beautiful. You could literally feel the love that went into every single little detail. From the landscaping on the family farm to the decorations, to the lighting & cake -- it was phenomenal! They also had the world's best MC who had us in stitches the entire night. I was definitely in tears from laughter!

All in all, I feel completely honoured to have be a part of their oh so special day.

My gosh these boys are fabulous! Their love is one that will LAST AND LAST.

Twas The Night Before

I always get these excited little butterflies in my stomach the night before I shoot a wedding.

Tomorrow I will have the honour of capturing a very special day in the lives of these two fabulous lads. The entire event is being held at a family farm and I just know it's going to be a beautiful evening!

Since my job was shared with another photographer who did the formals and whatnot, I got a chance to take some silly pics with friends after the ceremony. We're a pretty good looking bunch if I do say so myself!
