Last night, I brought this fabulous piece home with me from the 50/50 2012 gala and fundraiser at ARTSPACE. A great night out with friend + a new bit of Lucky Jackson geekery for my wall = win/win. I also wore snake print tights and my new body harness/necklace from Moorea Seal, which just adds to the excellence of the evening.

Many yawns and goodnights, dear hearts. It's just after 1am and I'm a sleepy gal. Thank you to my neighbour, Caren, for tweeting about this gorgeous print earlier. I love that sprawled out, cozy, sleepy pose. I think I'll go and do that now.

Today was the busiest of days. Errands, meetings, lots of coffee and as the road conditions worsened, I made the call to postpone my childbirth class for this evening. It's rather icy out there. Also, the dentist fixed my smile and I'm eternally grateful.

Sleep well.

Shiny Happy People: The Blogger Meetup!

Want to know what happens when you get seven bloggers together for tea time at an art gallery?

On the very last day of November, a group of Ontario bloggers were all invited to be a part of an installation tea service by artist Michele Karch Ackerman, whose exhibit, Foundling, is currently on display at a local gallery in Peterborough.

Meet Lucky, Mel, Caren, Elycia, Astrid, yours truly & Carly! (And the wee lass? Lucky's daughter Claire!)

A fabulous get together, for sure! Our poor little cheeks were aching at the end from all those smiles and giggles. It was so wonderful to immerse myself in a blogger-centric universe again... like a tiny version of BlogHer, where no one looks at you like you've got 23 noses if you tell them you're a blogger. (A what??) Thanks again for the afternoon of loveliness! Muah!

And don't forget to say a good "howdy" to these gals over on their blogs. So much goodness to be had!

Day 04: A Friend I Adore

Meet Lucky Jackson. An insanely talented artist, and the mastermind behind 365 Lucky Days, her newest endeavour, to make one work of embroidered brilliance, each day for a year. I've spotted this lovely lass all over the blogosphere this month and I'm SO happy to see her following growing and growing. She paints, she works with textiles and she made one of the best onesies Gretchen's ever worn.

I first met her at an Art in the Park, back in October 2008. I've been in love with her work since then, mes amis, and I bet you'll fall in love too.

She's a beautiful mama, to the sweetest redheaded girlies, and I always feel inspired when she's around. So yes, Lucky Jackson is a friend I adore... might be time to invite her over for some tea!
